The start of 2005 has seen large numbers of waxwings arrive on Merseyside & area with over 300 counted between Childwall  Fiveways and Derby Lane along Queens Drive, Liverpool. These colourful winter visitors from  Scandinavia are a welcome sight as they raid  the berry bearing trees and shrubs around the city.
